With Eclipse Surfwear, we’re spreading surfers’ vivid and vibrant style with fans everywhere – whether they’ve been riding waves forever or they’re just getting started.  

While Eclipse Surfwear is known for its relaxed and effortless style, it is also a mission-driven brand with big ambitions. By recycling ocean plastic to make clothing, our dedication to sustainability is woven into the very fabric of Eclipse. Our overall goal, as set by our child directors, is to clean up beaches and prevent further plastic pollution – for the benefit of sea life and surfers alike. 

Environmental crises like the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, a 1.6 million wide vortex of plastic waste and debris floating in the North Pacific Ocean, are symptomatic of a need for change in how we treat our oceans. The oceans are essential to life on this planet, and their health reflects our own.  

Mike Rack grew up between the waves of Bondi Beach, starting Eclipse Surfwear to ensure that enjoying everything the ocean has to offer doesn’t come at a cost.  

Several of HOPE’s child directors, like Louie, grew up in the Caribbean. Some of their happiest memories are of snorkeling the reefs in the crystal-clear waters. When Louie and the rest of the Board heard about the death of 50% of global coral reefs in the last 30 years, they were shocked into action.  

 That’s why proceeds from the sale of Eclipse Surfwear garments support our efforts to clear beaches of debris and protect marine environments. Recycling the ocean plastic into the fashion itself, we are ensuring that this material only to returns to the ocean sustainably and on your body!
